When I was young, like 10 years ago, my family and I used to travel to the south to celebrate the Fiestas Patrias. We used to celebrate twice, first in Valdivia, where my great-grandparents, my mother’s grandparents, live. All family came to visit them. There was my grandmother Monica, my grandfather Jose and all my uncles. I remember the huge amount of food we eat, a lot of barbeques, empanadas, sopaipillas and mote con huesillo. I loved it. Then we go to Llanquihue, where my grandparents live, the parents of my father. In there we eat a lot of food too. But the thing I enjoyed the most was playing with all my cousins, especially with Carolina, who was the only girl.
